On Succot a baby blessing is held in the shul for all new babies born in the previous year. This is an opportunity for fathers and or mothers to bring their baby into the main part of the synagogue, in front of the ark, to receive the priestly blessing from the Rabbi, as well as a chidren's siddur and a blessing certificate.
